Publishing and sharing

Choose what stays private, what becomes public, and how copies work.

Private versus public

A workspace note is private by default. Publishing makes the note available through Open Notes and gives it a public URL. Only publish material you are comfortable sharing with the wider community.

Publish a note

  1. Open the note editor.
  2. Review the title, content, media, and source links.
  3. Use the note's publishing or visibility control.
  4. Open the resulting Open Note URL to verify the public rendering.

Sharing and attribution

Share the public URL when you want readers to access the published version. When another user copies a public note, their copy is developed in their own workspace; the original public note remains the discovery source. Preserve source and author context when adapting material.

What is not documented here

Note. Admin-only publishing controls, cron-driven content generation, and internal moderation tools are intentionally excluded from the public user guide.
