Notes
Create, edit, organize, import, and revisit block-based notes.
Creating and editing
Notes use a block editor. Each block is independently editable and saved as part of the note. The editor supports headings, text, lists, numbered lists, to-dos, toggles, quotes, callouts, dividers, tables, columns, pages, and media blocks.
Depending on the note and device, you can also use video, audio, YouTube, Google Maps, Excalidraw, quiz, flashcard, summary, and Course blocks.
Working safely
- Autosave and synchronization keep block content consistent across sessions.
- Enter, split, merge, Backspace, and undo operate at block boundaries; let the editor finish saving before closing a newly changed note.
- The same note can be viewed publicly through an Open Note URL when it is published.
Organizing notes
- Use workspaces and folders to group notes.
- Use favorites, collections, archive, and trash where those controls are available in your workspace.
- Search your notes and filter the list to find a note quickly.
- Import or copy a note when you want to start from existing material instead of a blank page.
Media and references
Notes can hold uploaded files and references such as YouTube links, images, and other URLs. The Library gathers those references, note files, and glossary terms so they can be searched independently of the note text.
